Lively colours of early Summer
There is a small hill behind of my office. Sometime I walk into green forest on the hill during lunch break. It is the peak of the season of fresh verdure now. So I can enjoy fresh air and lively colours of early Summer.
It is also the season of blossom of Musahino Kisuge (Hemerocallis middendorfii var. esculenta f. musashiensis).
There are some small refugee colonies of Musashino Kisuge in the hill. Many people come to see flower
in this season.
Various colour, golden yellow to orange.
Colonies are at open place in forest or foot of hill.
Tokyo Metropolis government reserves the hill as natural conservation area and maintains boardwalk to protect soil and vegetation. It is benefit for walking around.
There is a small shrine of Omitarashi for a deity of fresh water spring. This is a pciture of Torii as the main entrance gate for shrine. However there is no building behind of this Torii because the substance of this shrine is just a small spring. This is a one of original style of traditional Shinto before systemization.
Greens just growing up under sunshine provides fresh oxygen as the origin of our vital power.
There are another pretty flowers of Egonoki (Japanese snowbell: Styrax japonica). But you must be careful with large carpenter bees. They prefer this flower very well.
If you want to visit the hill, it is only 1 hour trip from Tokyo downtown.
